Fred Astaire Dance Studios

Franchise Category

Business Description

Fred Astaire Dance Studios have franchise opportunities available to open your very own dance studio! Fred Astaire Dance Studios South Africa is dedicated to expanding its operations and bringing the fun and challenge of dancing to South Africa at an affordable cost.

Throughout the world, Fred Astaire’s name is synonymous with excellence in Ballroom and Latin-American Social Dancing. The legacy of Astaire, the greatest multi-talented dancer of all time, is the proud claim of the only International Dance Studio Organization in North America founded by Astaire and bearing his name: Fred Astaire Dance Studios.

Like the famous name, the structure of Fred Astaire Dance Studios is bedrock solid and a hallmark of business excellence. The franchise provides direct and effective support for the unique educational program, rigorous training and materials – including tried and tested lesson plans, manuals and DVDs, combined with Astaire’s trademark techniques to maintain the first place position on the most competitive edge of the dance market.

For more than 65 years, the curriculum has been rooted in teaching methods perfected by the master himself - Fred Astaire. The success of these methods remains unchallenged, and Fred Astaire Dance Studios have continued to be the leaders in dance instruction since 1947.

The Fred Astaire dance curriculum covers the full range of American, Latin-American, Ballroom and Exhibition/Theatre Arts dances, and is continuously updated and certified through our National Dance Board and Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studios curriculum certification.

Our studios have produced a wealth of amateur and professional dancers who are living embodiments of the style and grace of Mr Fred Astaire.

Background / History of the Business

Mr. Fred Astaire, considered to be the greatest multitalented dancer of all time, wanted to establish a chain of studios under his name to make sure that his techniques would be preserved and passed onto the public. Mr. Astaire was instrumental in the choice of dance curriculum and instructional techniques. With the opening of the first Fred Astaire Studio on Park Avenue in New York City in 1947, Fred Astaire brought his immense talent out of the glamour of Hollywood and onto the dance floors of America and the world.

Today, there are numerous Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studios located in cities throughout North America and internationally, which are required to maintain the highest standards of excellence. We achieve this through our National Dance Board and Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studios curriculum certification.
