Penguin Tutoring places trained and screened student tutors with learners at school. We have embarked on an aggressive growth programme during 2009, and opened new franchises in Cape Town, Pietermaritzburg, Winelands, Port Elizabeth, East London and Pretoria, positioning us as the biggest tutoring company in the country. A new business entity in Botswana is also currently underway. Our Johannesburg and Durban branches have been running most successfully since our inception, and have used these as centres of excellence to train our new franchisees. We are now splitting Johannesburg into four operational areas, and franchising them out. The business system is internet modelled and streamlined to take the time out of administration, and spend it focusing on children’s educational development. Operations can be conducted by a stay-at-home parent, and work flexible hours. |

The business began in 2005, building a footprint by appointing TUKS students to service clients in Pretoria. The company soon spread to Johannesburg and opened up an office in Rosebank. Cape Town was the next target, and proved to be even more a lucrative market than the Highveld. The business processes are now refined, proven and integrated into our online management system. We won an award from SAP for our efficient systems approach to business, and have used their best-in-class processes to further mature our systems. |
